40th Birthday Party Celebration

Our group consisted of 28 adults for a week's stay in Casa Macumba and the neighboring property Casa Milagro. Our experience was more than positive - we have nothing negative to say about our stay and we are already in the process of booking our next trip. 🙂

The owner, is amazing and everything represented on the website and VRBO site is accurate. He acted as more than the owner; he was incredibly helpful in helping us plan activities and excursions as well as arranging transportation throughout the week. The villa staff was also amazing and very pleasant and friendly. Carmen and her assistant Vicente cooked the most amazing meals twice a day with a great variety. We allowed her to choose what to cook, however, she was also very accommodating when we did have special requests. Pepe was a fabulous bartender/host and kept the delicious drinks flowing all afternoon and evening. We developed a wonderful rapport with the staff and considered them friends when we departed. The villa maintenance/housekeeping staff was also superior. Fermin, Jose, Lulu, Pati, and Leticia were most pleasant and professional and kept the villa grounds immaculate. The bedrooms in both villas were beautiful and very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. It really is not necessary to leave the villa if one's preference - the villa is stocked with boogie boards, life jackets and kayaks for guest use. The beach is just footsteps away from both houses, which was very convenient and we experienced both moderate and mild waves throughout the week. When we did choose to go on excursions, the owner arranged timely transportation with drivers who were just as pleasant, helpful and friendly as the villa staff.

Before our arrival, the owner had given us an idea of what to budget for the week for food and drink; at the end of the week, we were significantly under budget and never felt like there was any shortage of food or drink.

Our group highly recommends these properties to anyone hoping for an enjoyable Puerto Vallarta vacation; we were incredibly sad to leave!

Absolutely Amazing! We had the most wonderful family vacation! All 18 of us had a wonderful time with awesome service and delicious food! The staff was so sweet and kind and just perfect! The nine kids ranging in age from 6 to 18 years old (and the adults) had a blast being right on the beach with stunning views and awesome waves! The pool and ping-pong table and hammocks are great for over looking the ocean and keeping us busy The owner, the owner was very helpful in organizing excursions and available for any questions! We will recommend this to everyone! Thanks for the wonderful memories and family time! =)

What more can you say than everything was outstanding!!! The rooms were clean & beautiful, the food & service was unbelievable....2 meals served daily & drinks made for you all day long. The owner couldn't have been more accommodating and the staff was so friendly & treated us as family. Loved having the pool, 3 kayaks, body boards, ping pong table, etc. We had 8 grandkids ( 8 to 18 ) and they never got bored. Would definitely go back!!!!!

My family and I spent Christmas 2016 at Casa Macumba. The 13 of us had the best time. We all had beautiful bedrooms looking out at the ocean with beds to spare. The hacienda is located on the best beach close to the center of PV (a five minute taxi ride to town.) Amenities were terrific with a large front yard, pool, lounging areas, palapas, places to throw the football, play volleyball, and many competitive games of ping pong. The owner provided kayaks and boogie boards for playing in the surf, which was just right, not too strong and wonderfully warm. The best treat was Carmen the chef, a delightful woman who cooked the most delicious meals and catered to our every request. Pepe and the other staff ran the house exceptionally well, and we never had to worry about any detail. Truly an experience we won't forget, especially the 7 twenty year olds we had with us. Thank you for allowing us to experience this truly unique home.

December Wedding 2016

We had 42 people attend our wedding and stay at Casa Macumba and Casa Milagro for 6 days in December 2016. The pictures on-line don't truly reflect how beautiful both of these properties are. Every bedroom has its own full bathroom and every bedroom has an ocean view. Outside of each bedroom is a sitting area or balcony so that guests can have morning coffee with the sunrise and wine or beer with the sunset. Talk about being spoiled....we really were by the owner and his staff. Any excursions we wanted to partake in the owner would have shuttle staff waiting to take all of us. The money you pay for accommodations and private chef are worth it!!! Once we told the owner and Carmen, the Chef, what we wanted they took care of it! We would go on our excursions and come back to the Villas with lunch and dinner prepared and ready for us. Thank you for the priceless memories we had with our families during our wedding. We highly recommend staying at one of these properties!! You wont regret it. Several of our family members said this was their best vacation ever!!!! During our stay we saw dolphins jumping in the water from the villa courtyards and sea turtles hatched on our last day right in front of Casa Milagro! Since this section of the beach is not lined with hotels instead it has condos or private homes we had the beach all to ourselves and got to met some of the locals. Since all of the locals know the owner they charged us fairly for our excursions and shuttle service. If there were any issues with the locals the owner was quick to resolve them. We hired a wedding photographer through the owner and the shuttle service from the airport to the Villas. The airport shuttle was waiting for us with coolers full of water and beer. I would recommend the shuttle service through the owner so that you don't have to try and arrange taxis for everyone. I just provided the owner with a list of our guest with their flight information and the shuttle was waiting for us at the curb. I know that these properties are listed as casas but they are really more than just a casa or home they are vacation villas beautifully appointed!

We had a magical Thanksgiving week with our entire family present. The two homes were perfect for our large group, the staff was very friendly and accomadating. The food and beverage service and quality was fantastic. Carmen and her staff worked to ensure our meals were timely and delicious. She would have done a traditional thanksgiving dinner but we opted to have Mexican food it was fun and delicious. The homes are both beautiful, clean, modern and kept perfect by the staff. The pools are both fun, clean and always maintained sparkling and pleasant. The beach is really just perfect, soft sand gentle waves with clear warm water. The little kids loved the sand and pools the older kids spent hours riding waves in the ocean. The owner is close by all the time and was a wonderful host. We plan a return to this paradise it was the best vacation we've ever had.

Perfect family vacation

We stayed here for the 2nd week in October 2016 with a 13 people, 8 adults and 5 kids. Overall it was one of our best family trips ever.

The house was impeccable, from the grounds, to the rooms and especially the staff. We ate every meal at the house with the expection of dinner on the staff's day off. Carmen is an amazing chef that wow'd us at every meal with her presentation and taste. And this is coming from a group with a chef and a bunch of food snobs. Each room was spotless clean every day. The owner was the best host you could ask for, from arranging transportation, to excursions, to everything we could asked for. He was like a personal concierge.

The only complainant, and it was due to the hot weather, was we wished there was air conditioning in the living and dining rooms.

We will absolutely return here on our next trip to PV...we loved every minute here.

Excellent Property

We are a group of 27 close friends who stayed at Casa Macumba and Casa Milagro for a week in July. The houses, the surroundings, and the view exceeded our expectations. When you arrive at the top of the main road it seems like a busy area where you see a lot of building going on. But as you descend the drive, you find yourself in a very private sanctuary with a view of the entire Bay. Each house is beautiful & unique. Each room, shared space, and outdoor space is meticulously maintained. It is clear that the owner (and team) have carefully hand selected furniture and art, as well as building out a beautiful property. As described, the houses are steps apart thru a private walkway. There are two pools (on the small side but completely adequate, one at each house), and the ocean right outside the gate. They have a good supply of kayaks, boogie boards, and snorkels for your use. The highlight of the stay was the chef and kitchen team. They delivered a fabulous meal, drinks and experience every time - don't be afraid to let them choose the menu. They were also very attentive to individual needs - vegetarian and picky kids. They went out of their way to deliver a special dinner celebration for us one night, complete with a Mariachi band. They also stayed well within the food budget that was laid out in the contract. Do pay attention to the rules of the meal times and the staff hours so you can be prepared. We chose to prepare our own breakfast most mornings - they always had the kitchen well stocked for us - and it was fun having everyone participate in some cooking. (Plus the staff came behind us and cleaned up!). We did some excursion planning ahead of time, and the owner was always available to help with planning while we were there - for us that included ziplining tour, fishing trip and transportation whenever we needed it. It was our first time in Puerta Vallarta and it is a fabulous town to explore. We have a lot of places we want to go, but if the opportunity ever arose, we would certainly stay here again.

We enjoyed a family vacation -- 8 adults and 6 children -- and had the best time ever! We rate the experience an A+.

The villa was lovely and large, the pool and grounds big enough for the kids to have a ball but not too big that we couldn't keep an eye on them, and the ocean was just a short staircase away. But the best part by far was the helpful, friendly and outstanding staff, all of whom could not do enough for us. A special shout-out to the owner who arranged to procure forgotten medications for us and answered all our quetions, to Pepe who kept us in Margueritas and Mojitos, and to Carmen our chef who prepared the most delicious meals (so wonderful in fact that we never left to go to a restaurant!)t

The boys went deep sea fishing, and the boat picked them up right at the beach. And the kids went ziplining, which was only 15 minutes away. There were plenty of pool toys and boogie boards for the kids, and a ping pong table for daily tournaments.

It was the most totally relaxing vacation in memory. Thank you!
