Staff is excellent and friendly. We all very much enjoyed our family gathering of 12 (six siblings with spouses) at beautiful Casa Macumba. The gorgeous sunset while we enjoyed dinner outdoors each night was a huge plus! Pool was nice and warm and very clean! Would highly recommend and hope to come back again someday!! The owner is a stand-up guy! And the staff is like no other!! Thanks for a fabulous vacation!!

I honestly cannot think of one single item that could be improved upon at Casa Macumba. We had a family of 16 stay for Thanksgiving week. The facilities were spotless, the grounds , room cleaning, and hospitality services were outstanding. The cooking and meal selections were incredible. Don't bother going out to eat, no restaurant could compare to the meals that Carmen prepared. The owner, is easy to reach and he was amazing as he addressed every one of our requests. We asked about jet skis and he arranged to have them brought to our beach. We inquired about doing a sailing trip and he had the boat brought to our beach. It was such a great party sailing that we repeated the trip. Whatever you want to do, the owner will arrange it. We ran low on several liquor items and he went and bought them for us. Amazingly, except for taking morning walks to a nearby village, there is no reason to leave the premises. The beach is pristine and at our front door and the ocean was calm and warm. This is unquestionably the perfect location for a family reunion or vacation. We are planning a repeat.

Beautiful property for our annual family reunion! Ours is a very active group, usually we plan daily excursions and then return to the house for a swim and cocktails before dinner. However, Casa Macumba had everything we needed right there, including a beautiful clean beach and pool, so we only ventured out a few times all week, opting instead to just relax, enjoy and recharge. The owner was very helpful in scheduling all our transportation and arranging our private catamaran sailing, which helped make this a stress-free experience. The layout of the house is spacious, one-level, and all bedrooms feature an ocean view. All bedrooms are en suite, which was great for our group. One bedroom had 2 king sized beds, which was ideal for our 2 grown sons. Can’t say enough about Carmen and Pepe, always friendly and accommodating! All meals, including desserts, were amazing! Highly recommend this property, we hope to return some day!

Our family just returned from a weeks' vacation at both villas. Macumba and Milagro. We had 34 in our group. The pictures online. The descriptions. The previous reviews were 100% accurate. The Owner, The Staff, the Food, the Service was all incredible!!! You do not experience this level of service and quality of food at your typical all-inclusive resorts. If your looking for the ultimate vacation getaway then this is the place for you... Our family of 11 (parents, two daughters, two son-laws, five granddaughters) spent six nights at this "Fabulous Home" on the beach. I say "Home" because this is not just a house. The owner has done an excellent job in hiring the most gracious, attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Vicente (chef), Lupita (chef assistant) Leticia (housekeeper), Fermin (gardener & all around helper, & Lulu (laundry). They honestly make you feel at home and want to ensure that what ever you need is availabile. One of our granddaughters is only six months old. If she was awake during one of our meals, Lupita always offered to hold her so our daughter could enjoy her meal. For those parents with babies I am sure you understand how wonderful that was. Fermin kept all areas of the outside very clean and helped take furniture down to the beach. Leticia was so cheerful and kept our rooms very clean. Vicente made our chosen meals quite tasty. You must ask for his French toast. We all agreed they were the best we ever had. We never got to meet Lulu but she did a great job with the clothes we put out for washing. I know my daughters will surely miss Lupitas margaritas. They were fantastic. She also makes a great banana and peanut butter smoothie we requested for the kids. I am not describing the house because you can read that online. We truly appreciated the size of the house and property. Our teenage granddaughters each had their own room which was wonderful for them. They had plenty of locations for reading. I've saved the greatest surprise for last. We were here during the Fourth of July holiday. The owner at his own cost, surprised us with our very own fireworks show on the beach. Real fireworks! We will never forget that! Thank you so much for our wonderful surprise and for sharing your home and staff with our family ❤️❤️❤️

First off I should say that we have traveled Mexico extensively both coastal and inland. We have been to Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, the coast of Oaxaca, Acapulco, Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo and now Puerto Vallarta. The town feels safe and the people are helpful and kind. There is a bit of hustle and the typical level of trash in the streets. The area around Casa Macumba is out of town but not too far away. Expect cab rides of you choose to shop or eat out. The food prepared by Carmen and served by Pepe is amazing and safe to eat. They can make food to order or surprise you with popular Mexican fare. This was agreed to by all in our group, seven adults and seven children ages 6-15. The owner is very helpful and is bilingual. He can help arrange excursions at a discounted rate and knows the drivers that can take you where you need to go. He lives nearby and has been coming to PV for 44 years. The staff clean the property and your rooms daily and are available to set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Fermin and Leticia were fantastic at caring for the property. The bedrooms have A/C and easy access to the pool and beach. The beach is literally a short walk down the sea wall steps-ten steps to be exact. There are tons of places to sit and lay down in the shade or sun as well as three hammocks. The property is on a single level with a ramp for wheelchair access, though it is somewhat steep by US ADA standards. There is wifi in the main living area that is included and laundry services at no additional cost. Just leave the bag outside your door. The beach is perfect for kids and teens. We were here durIng a stormy time so the waves were a bit rough in some parts of some days but mellow the rest of the time. Overall this is a perfect getaway with all the amenities and access to activities you need. No competing for chairs in the shade or any of that like at many resorts. No loud music playing while you are relaxing on the beach like most resorts. You can plug in your own music and set the volume yourselves. Come and check it out for yourselves. The owner can answer any questions you may have. Also he owns Casa Milagro next door which is amazing as well with a different layout.

We were a family group of 18, ages 1 to 84 {including one with mobility issues} arriving on various flights and met by very friendly people arranged by the manager. From then on, and for 7 days, every service was well above our expectations. The rooms were spotless, with furnishings, in and out, all of high quality. The grounds and pool were in immaculate condition. We asked Carmen to arrange our food menu and she cooked it to perfection. Food service was prompt and exquisitely presented. The owner was always available to advise us about the area and any taxis he requested arrived on time. There was little need to leave the property, anything we needed was right there. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Casa Macumba far exceeded our "high" expectations. We were a family of 19 with ages from 4 months to 70 years old. The Casa was the perfect place for the entire family. The quality of the bedrooms (mattress, bedding and pillows) and bathrooms very comfortable...no need to bring your own pillow. We dined on the patio most nights, as the weather was perfect and the ocean views and sunsets beautiful. The children loved the heated pool, and grass to play in. Everyone enjoyed the 4 hammocks! BUT...the best part was the wonderful staff! We never wanted for anything...food was over the top, so good that no one ever wanted to leave Casa Macumba to go out to dinner. The children were served smoothies and special snacks throughout the stay. The beach equipment was well taken care of and taken down to the beach for us each day...we were spoiled beyond belief and can't wait to return one day.

Our three generation family of 17 rented Casa Macumba for a wonderful week long getaway. The property couldn't have been better. Lots of room for everyone to be together or spend time on their own if wanted. The pool is central and the younger kids practically lived in it. The staff were exceptional !!! Carmen prepared us the most wonderful meals. She only charges what the groceries cost. 17 of us ate for a week for only about $1,150,00 USD. Pepe was very attentive to our needs and kept the margaritas or Pina Coladas flowing. If we needed taxi's or anything he was most helpful. The other staff were friendly as well. The owner was also very helpful organizing airport transfers or activities.

I highly recommend this property and hope to return again one day.

Our group of 15 thoroughly enjoyed this villa. There was space enough for everyone and the staff did a great job of keeping the spaces immaculate. The grounds were beautifuĺy kept and the pool was wonderfully warm. Carmen and Pepe served up awsome food and they always made sure we had just what we needed. Loved the charcoal grill. We arrived late the first day and the staff stayed to serve us fajitas at 11 pm -delicious! A bit far from town to go anywhere on foot but cabs were quick and reliable, the beach was not crowded and it made the space private and relaxing. The beach is so close, so be aware there will be noise from the crashing waves that might impact light sleepers. Lots of waves so the water wasnt great for the smallest swimmer but the pool made up for it. Beautiful sunsets and whale watching from the breakfast table. The owner arranged a boat for whale watching with great success. Other than horseback riding and a few trips to pv we stayed in and relaxed.
