Every bit a five star venue for our family reunion of 17, ages 10 to 85. The house was reminiscent of a southwestern ranch with an open concept affording views to the pool and ocean. Clean, well maintained and updated to modern standards. Impeccable service was provided with a smile to meet our various taste and needs.

The owner organized our transportation from and to the airport and additionally provided a wonderful tour guide to take all of us on a tour of Puerto Vallarta which everyone enjoyed. He also organized a snorkeling trip, a fishing trip and the availability of Jet Skis for the group. It was great to be picked up at the house or at the beach for all our activities.

Carmen, the chef, was wonderful, providing us with wonderful meals and catering to all our needs. Have you ever had a pizza on a corn tortilla? A great gluten free alternative! We also had vegetarians she catered to. It was harder with a peanut/tree nut allergy as allergens are not clearly labeled in Mexico so it takes a very sharp eye to find in the labels and even the chocolate ice cream, pancake mix and bread could have been contaminated. Once she was aware she was most careful. The food was prepared with the freshest of ingredients and when we asked for seafood soup it was made with fresh crabs, shrimps, fish, clams, mussels, etc. Delicious! All the meals were a treat. Thank you, Carmen!

Danny was always there ready to help. He offered to take our active group on a hike to the river directly from the house. There they were able to swim and jump off the rocks and had a wonderful time. Leticia was wonderful setting our coffee in the mornings and even doing our dishes after we made our breakfast. The house and our rooms were cleaned without ever feeling she was in our way. There was always plenty of clean pool towels for our use. Fermin kept the yard, walk ways and even the beach area clean for us and helped bring the equipment from the beach and also rinsed them for us.

I could go on and on. We have been having yearly family reunions for the last 15 years, from Cruises to All Inclusives and this one has been the most memorable by far. Thank you to all of you at Casa Macumba!

Everything was easy and perfect from the time we arrived at the airport to the minute we left. The owner was an outstanding host and went out of his way to answer questions and make excursion arrangements for us. He hooked us up with Javier Lopez which took 10 snorkeling at Los Arcos and 9 of us fishing. Getting picked up in front of the Casa was perfect. The staff were incredible especially Carmen's cooking and Danny’s service of serving us drinks throughout the day. At one point we were trying to knock down a coconut and the next thing we’re know the staff got a ladder and cut down about 10 to prepare fresh coconut water for us. My only improvements (and I am super picky) is to have a microwave to warm up food for breakfast or in the evening and to have fresh towels on Sunday when the staff are off duty. Truly a slice of heaven to have a villa to ourselves without any worries and the grounds were perfect for our group of 19. The beach was outstanding to ride waves or just float in for hours. I am trying to figure out how to come back again.

From the rooms to the meals to the excellent staff members you could not ask for more. The property was amazing , so clean . Ocean is so close you just have to walk down the stairs .

Daniel, Carmen, Lulu, Fermin and Leticia were the best ever. They all treated us like family.

The owner was so helpful and friendly.

Our group of 11 stayed at this location for 6 nights. A great time was had by all. The owner and the entire staff treated us so well. Meals were delicious, house is maintained meticulously as were the landscape and the pool. Blair took care of setting up almost all of our transportation needs as well as a fishing trip for the guys and a in home spa day for the ladies. I would totally recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice retreat for a large group of people.

I chose Casa Macumba as the site for a 70th birthday celebration. Over a two week span I had 31 guests join in the celebration and without exception, each guest (as well as myself) expressed appreciation and pleasure of the experience. Upon my arrival and the arrival of three groups of celebrants, there was a warm and personalized welcome. Luggage was brought to guests’ rooms as fresh margaritas were blended and guacamole and chips were set out for snacking. The chef’s joy of cooking was tasted in every dish she created; several of the guests had food allergies or food limitations yet no guest missed the presence of any food or spice. The staff of five functioned as a team with the purpose of ensuring the guests have a memorable experience. They were readily present without being intrusive. The house manager was bilingual so there was never a communication challenge. The environment of the property was such that there were spaces for idleness relaxation, conversations, water activities (heated pool and ocean), and beach walks and sand castles. Personally, I found the manner of payment for food and gratuities to be efficient and not an encumbrance. There was great value for the monies spent. I eagerly await my next Casa Macumba experience.

Wonderful property, great staff & food was wonderful. However, it is difficult to wait to have lunch at 1:30 earliest & then be hungry for dinner latest at 6:30. If we would do it again, would want sandwiches, hot dogs or hamburgers, something lighter at 12:00 & then the wonderful dinners at 6:30. Just wasn't possible to eat those large meals so close together. Wi-Fi was not great but that could be of all the people wanting to be on at the same time.

Beach was great & having all the equipment available was a big plus. Family enjoyed our time there.

Due to popular request, when guests choose the lunch and dinner option the new meal time options are as follows:

Lunch- 12:00 12:30 1:00 1:30 and 2:00

Dinner- 5:30 6:00 6:30 7:00 and 7:30

The internet provider has notified us that the new fibre optic line will be coming soon so that we will have faster internet service.

We had a group of 15 friends come together for this trip and we had the time of our lives! The property is stunning! The house is beautiful, traditional style and was always clean and fresh. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the pool was perfect and the grassy yard gave us lots of room to play games and hang out. The owner was very professional and accommodating. The staff were fantastic! Everyone was very nice, accommodating and professional. The food was the best I have ever had. There were many food choices and we enjoyed everything we tried! It is only a 10-15 minute trip into downtown either by bus or taxi, which was perfect for us. I spent the whole week trying to figure out how I could get back to Casa Macumba again soon!

We had an amazing time! We had our wedding at casa macumba 3/3/18. We rented casa macumba and Milagro and our friends and family didn’t want to leave! We loved all of the people who took care of us and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We will be back some day!!

We rented both Casa Macumba and Casa Milagro for a group of 28 people. We had very high expectations going in, but both villas and their staff exceeded these expectations. The bedrooms and common areas in both villas are so nice … they look like what you see in the photos, except that the photos don’t really convey the amazing views of the water from each room. It's also nice to have a bathroom for every bedroom as well as a common area bathroom for each villa. The swimming pools are kept warm, with Milagro's pool having nice jets and pool lights and bench-like seating. Both villas have nice outdoor seating/eating areas, but Macumba in particular offers so many good places to sit, eat, or just hang out and enjoy the spectacular weather and scenery. Other highlights of the outdoor areas include hammocks at Macumba, ping pong tables at both villas, and kayaks available to use. And of course there is the fact that both villas are right on a very nice beach, right outside secure gates for each of them. Playa Punta Negra is a picturesque and swimmable beach that is open to the public, but it’s not overcrowded like the beaches in town. So there is so much to enjoy right there at the villas – but if you want to go into town to explore the city, it is really quite easy to do so. The staff can help with calling taxis, but we used Uber quite a bit for the 10 minute ride into town. There is also a bus stop almost directly across from the villas, with the bus costing about 50 cents to ride into town.

Even with the beautiful accommodations and setting, what really made our experience exceed our expectations was the owner and the staff for both houses. He helped us to arrange airport pickup/transport to the villas for our large group flying in at various times over 2 days. (he can also help you to arrange activities such as zip-lining, dolphin swims, etc.) The head chef, Carmen, prepared delicious meals and tasty desserts. And Daniel and the other staff also seemed to always have margaritas ready for us. The staff also cleaned and picked up around the villas; even doing things like washing our clothes and helping to pull kayaks back up to the villas. And every staff member was personable and friendly.

With the combination of great service and accommodations, I don’t know how you can beat the quality and value of staying at Macumba and Milagro. Thank you Carmen, Daniel, and all for such a great time! Very highly recommended!

Our 3 generation family vacation at Casa Macumba was beyond our expectation. There were 17 of us with 8 children 10 years old and younger. Everyone had a wonderful time. The food prepared by Carmen and Danny was excellent. Danny is great at making margaritas. There were tears from some of the children on our departure day as they wanted to stay until weather was warmer at home. They also suggested that Carmen could come home with us.

The facility and grounds was kept clean and tidy by Fermine and Letitia.

I would definitely recommend Casa Macumba as a vacation destination. Susan D, Manitoba Canada
